In the summer of 2020, the HOPE Youth Coalition was formed to build a movement to amplify youth voices and power over the messages they absorb online.
Youth Coalition identified these as pressing issues on platforms:
Alcohol and substance ads/exposures
Body image and dissatisfaction
Screen time and doom scrolling
Influencers’ platform
Sexually explicit content and promotion
Self-esteem and social comparison
Youth Coalition examines the impacts that social media has on their generations and how we can create solutions to build better online communities for generations to come.
