GoodforMEdia's Maker's Day
How often are you given space to be vulnerable about the way social media has impacted you, without feeling judged?
At this event, you will have the opportunity to share about the way you navigate social media by engaging in testimony - sharing spaces and a variety of stations with different activities related to social media and youth wellbeing.
The perspectives, experiences, and ideas we collect from the testimonies will then be shared out on our platforms so that other teens can learn from the tips, strategies, and experiences directly provided by youth.
Our HOPE Podcast will be featured as a station.

Youth Speak Out On The Impacts Of Social Media
SOCIAL MEDIA MESSAGING can negatively impact the mental health of California youth, but also holds promise as a channel for delivering timely information and support. The passage of AB2273 has been a significant first step in protecting young people from harmful messaging on social media channels; however, many issues remain that will require commitment from numerous stakeholders. Asm. Wicks will discuss the legislation, young people impacted by this issue will share their stories and calls-to-action, and the California Partners Project will release a new report with findings that point to next steps.
